About AsULead – July 27 - 30
AsULead at Appalachian State University is a four-day residential experience that equips select rising seniors from historically marginalized/underrepresented backgrounds to:
become better leaders through training in leadership and cultural awareness
be competitive for selective colleges and scholarship programs
understand how career objectives relate to college majors
return to their communities as ambassadors for college success
If selected, students will receive a scholarship that covers meals, lodging, transportation from central pick-up locations, and all necessary supplies for the AsULead program.
Central pick-up locations for summer 2020 are Charlotte, Greensboro, Raleigh and Cherokee.
Topics covered in workshops and small groups sessions are as follows:
team building skills
essay and résumé writing
college & career navigation
financial aid literacy
Students must
submit the application below by May 8
